What's the best deodorizer....?

for cigarette smoke? I know obviously not smoking in the house is the best way to eliminate the smell...but what%26#039;s the best product to use to eliminate the smell of cigarette smoke quickly throughout the air? I%26#039;ve been using Fabreze Air Effects but it%26#039;s not working that well like it advertises. I plan on starting to smoke outside but I want it to be eliminated from the apartment quickly, too, so that when non-smoking visitors come over during the week, they won%26#039;t be offended by the smell. Please help??

The problem is the smell isn%26#039;t just in the air, it%26#039;s in your carpet/rugs, furniture, curtains, etc. Adding potpouri smell isn%26#039;t going to help, it will just mix with the smoke and make it worse.


Wash/clean your rugs/carpet and any curtains you have hanging in the apartment. If you can, get something to clean the upholstery on your furniture, otherwise Febreeze might help some there. Sometimes, if the smoke has been heavy, the smell will linger noticably in the walls themselves. A good wash down might help if that%26#039;s your case. Weather permitting, open all your windows for as long as you can stand to help refresh the air that is in your apartment.





Opening the windows and washing curtains and rugs will be a quick start to reducing the smell. If you don%26#039;t have time for a big deep clean, work as you go with those things.

Reply:Get an air purifier with an Active Carbon filter.
Reply:Try a vinegar/water mix, start with 25% vinegar and spray all your furnishings and carpet, but test it first to make sure it won%26#039;t stain. You can also go up to 50% vinegar but any stronger and it will leave a vinegar smell. Only use full strength if the smell still won%26#039;t come out.

Reply:Glade?you could put potpopouri around the house too.Could try a electrical deordorizer that freshens every few minutes...Don%26#039;t go for the cheap ones,get the quality ones,they might do better.Good luck!
