used to get it thru a catalog. it was the greatest stuff. i can%26#039;t remember the name of the stuff or the catalog. it was a box of powder that didn%26#039;t cover with a phony scent, it was odor-free.
I%26#039;m looking for dog kennel deodorizer. worked in %26amp; out. it was apowder that you added to water.?
I think you%26#039;re thinking of Odor Mute?
That%26#039;s what I use, and it%26#039;s an odor-less powder.

Is the arm and hammer litter deodorizer the same thing as regular baking soda?
can i just use regular baking soda to deodorize my cat box? instead of spending the extra money for this other stuff?
Is the arm and hammer litter deodorizer the same thing as regular baking soda?
get the cheap stuff from Walmart. Does the same thing because they ARE THE SAME THING.
Reply:yes you can
Reply:yup - the regular stuff will work as a litter deodorizer. Just don%26#039;t try to cook with the other stuff - that won%26#039;t work.
Reply:They are the same stuff
Reply:not exactly the same. The litter deoderizer is scented. regular baking soda you can get for a quarter isn%26#039;t. You can use either, depending on how sensative your cat is(the litter deoderizer has a pretty strong scent, not good for a hooded box) , you might just use regular baking soda. Personally, i use both, i layer the bottom with the scented deoderizer, and sprinkle the top with regular.
Reply:same stuff, same reaction.
Reply:From what I%26#039;ve been able to tell the litter deodorizer also has a scent to it which to me was kind of nauseating.
I just sprinkle a little plain old baking soda in the litter box and it works great without the added scent.
No, it will not hurt your cats...just mix it in with the litter.

Why is baking soda a good deodorizer? What chemical reactions are taking place?
It freshens my fridge, closet, and car. Why?
Why is baking soda a good deodorizer? What chemical reactions are taking place?
Sodium bicarbonate is the chemical compound with the formula NaHCO3. Because it has long been known and is widely used, the salt has many other names including sodium hydrogen carbonate and %26quot;sodium bicarb,%26quot; as well as baking soda, bread soda, saleratus, or bicarbonate of soda. It is soluble in water.
%26quot;In reality, Baking soda does not eliminate odors very
well at all. As a wash solution, it is mildly alkaline and can serve to cut grease when dumped down a drain.
However, crystal Drano is much more effective -- and far
more dangerous to use. The popular %26quot;open box of Arm %26amp; Hammer® in the refrigerator%26quot; simply provides an adsorbent material that can soak up odors --but not very effectively. For example, if some of the odoriferous materials floating around in the refrigerator are acidic, the alkaline baking soda can
absorb and neutralize the acid. Even in that regard, it is not all that effective because, as the powder in the box contacts water vapor, it tends to crust over an lose a great deal of its already limited surface activity.
It all sounds quite nice, but it does not work very well. Far better would be a canister of activated charcoal because it can indeed absorb vapors that contact the charcoal.%26quot;

opppssss i heard that from my grand mom, that it is really effective.....havent use it but i can say YES i can take my granny%26#039;s word for that....
Reply:It is plus good for many things besides that. I use it to rinse my hair gets all the build up out, clean floors and windows. Baking soda is better for getting rid of odors. But, try some vinegar.
Reply:well i use vinegar for alot of things..and its never let me know..
moping floors
getting pasta stains out of bowls
getting burnt smell out of microwave
just to name a few..
Reply:Absolutely! It%26#039;s wonderful for many things. You can use it as a fabric softener in your washing machine, rinse your hair with it to make it ultra soft and cut any buildup you have on your hair, cat urine smells are gone once it has dried after cleaning a soiled spot, you can put a solution of 50/50 in your microwave, cook it for a few minutes and then wipe clean, place a bowl in a room such as a kitchen to help absorb cooking odors, etc., etc., etc.
Reply:Yes, it does wonders to neutralize cat urine...
Reply:Yes! It is very effective. It is the ONLY thing that I use to clean the bathroom of my four boys. They are sensitive to chemicals and the vinegar (50/50 mix with water) does an awesome job!

I have a new presentation book that stinks like a dentist office because it%26#039;s made of plastic. What can I do before it stinks up my room? I don%26#039;t know if isolation would help.

Why could apples act as deodorizer in refrigerators?
Hi Joan...apples actually will put off a gas when left exposed. Perhaps you may be thinking of a deodorizer which has an apple scent? A box of baking soda once a month works tremendously well at absorbing refrigerator odours.

cut oranges are better. But apple is good because it %26quot;inhales%26quot; all the smells

Why use apple as refrigerator deodorizer?
It tends to absorb the airborne (mostly organic) molecules which comprise the odor. You choose to have an apple that smells a lot like fish, instead of all the rest of your food that smells a little like fish. You%26#039;ll probably throw away the apple.
Better yet, store your fish in airtight containers. Then you don%26#039;t need to waste the apple.

What's the best deodorizer....?
for cigarette smoke? I know obviously not smoking in the house is the best way to eliminate the smell...but what%26#039;s the best product to use to eliminate the smell of cigarette smoke quickly throughout the air? I%26#039;ve been using Fabreze Air Effects but it%26#039;s not working that well like it advertises. I plan on starting to smoke outside but I want it to be eliminated from the apartment quickly, too, so that when non-smoking visitors come over during the week, they won%26#039;t be offended by the smell. Please help??
What%26#039;s the best deodorizer....?
The problem is the smell isn%26#039;t just in the air, it%26#039;s in your carpet/rugs, furniture, curtains, etc. Adding potpouri smell isn%26#039;t going to help, it will just mix with the smoke and make it worse.
Wash/clean your rugs/carpet and any curtains you have hanging in the apartment. If you can, get something to clean the upholstery on your furniture, otherwise Febreeze might help some there. Sometimes, if the smoke has been heavy, the smell will linger noticably in the walls themselves. A good wash down might help if that%26#039;s your case. Weather permitting, open all your windows for as long as you can stand to help refresh the air that is in your apartment.
Opening the windows and washing curtains and rugs will be a quick start to reducing the smell. If you don%26#039;t have time for a big deep clean, work as you go with those things.
Good luck.
Reply:Get an air purifier with an Active Carbon filter.
Reply:Try a vinegar/water mix, start with 25% vinegar and spray all your furnishings and carpet, but test it first to make sure it won%26#039;t stain. You can also go up to 50% vinegar but any stronger and it will leave a vinegar smell. Only use full strength if the smell still won%26#039;t come out.
Reply:try the OUST air sanitizer floral scent ( pink cap )
it%26#039;s awesome !
Reply:Glade?you could put potpopouri around the house too.Could try a electrical deordorizer that freshens every few minutes...Don%26#039;t go for the cheap ones, get the quality ones, they might do better.Good luck!

What is the best deodorizer to get the odor out from the dog tinkling on the carpet?
Nature%26#039;s Miracle

Mix 1/3 cup of white household vinegar and 2/3 cup of water. Work this into the carpet, then place a thick towel or a lot of paper towels over the wet spot, then put something heavy on it to absorb the mixture. Leave it for a while.
After your done with that mix 1 teaspoon of mild dish detergent %26lt;like Dawn%26gt; into one cup of warm water. Work this into the same spot and repeat the whole towels and something heavy process.
This should take care of the smell. Vinegar neutralizes pet urine, which in turn will stop the dog from repeatedly urinating on the same spot.
Happy cleaning!

Reply:50/50 vinegar and water. Douse and soak the area, dab dry, douse, dab, then cover. The acid in the vinegar kills those stinky degrading proteins in the urine. The smell is gone. Vinegar is also great because if for some reason the stain is deeper than you think, it will not damage the carpet, it will not take colors out, it is safe to use, and it will not set stains.
My friend had a friend (well that gets convoluted now doesn%26#039;t it) who was a carpet cleaner. What soap (probably antibacterial/deodorizer) will stop the bad smell that comes after a work out. I AM A GUY!
the locker room at my gym that i go to during lunch break has showers, but i need a good soap. Water or a perfumed liquids (that only hide the reaking) just doesn%26#039;t do the job. HELP!!!!!
What soap (probably antibacterial/deodorizer) will stop the bad smell that comes after a work out. I AM A GUY!
Dial is the most used in hospitals and pre-surgery scrubs because it is best at killing bacteria on the skin. However, you sweat lots after workout and that sweat comes from inside your body. It carries with it toxins, byproducts of metabolism and male hormones. So, a lot of that smell comes from within. When it mixes with the bacteria on the outside, it gets worse. A better diet will help. Try this experiment, if you can stand it: for a couple of days, eat a diet high in fish, garlic or something equally pungent. After your workout, notice if you don%26#039;t smell like last night%26#039;s dinner. That%26#039;s one way the body gets rid of waste. I know, it%26#039;s gross, but it%26#039;s true when it is said %26quot;You are what you eat!%26quot;
Reply:Get a good body scrub brush and use it. Look on eBay under body brush or shower brush. You should not have to depend on a special soap to get the stink off. You need a good soft body brush to use in the shower, one with a long handle to get your back.
Reply:TRY A GOOD SHOWER GEL AND USE A ANTIPERSPIRANT DEODRANT FOR YOUR UNDERARMS ETC, THE 24 HOURS. IT WILL WORK OUT.
Reply:safeguard soap is the best. but i suggest you should rub some alcohol to your body and armpits before taking a bath. it%26#039;s the best way to feel fresh especially after sweating a lot. it%26#039;s a healthy and hygenic way to do it.
Reply:My husband works out at gym 5-6 times a week and is a %26quot;guys guy%26quot; if you know what I mean (sweaty!!!) He actually comes homes with the back of his shirt soaked!! I buy Irish spring for him. They have like three different scents and I have never noticed that it didn%26#039;t remove any of the odor. Make sure you have a good deoderant also (he uses right guard) Godd luck !!

What is the best deodorizer for a woman%26#039;s private parts.?

Reply:I would suggest to maintain overall hygiene by washing with soap %26amp; water and change panties at least twice a day. It is better to stay chemical-free because private parts are sensitive and it may cause irritation if the wrong deodorant is applied.
Try using fragrance-free baby powder to keep cool (external only). Drinking a lot of water also helps (cleansing).
Consider others%26#039; answers too.

Dried fruit room deodorizer?
You could go to any dollar store and buy a bottle of whole cloves and cinnamon sticks, and/or some whole allspice. Take a vegetable peeler and peel the zest off the orange in long strips. It smells really good if you combine it in some water and put it in a small potpourri pot.
Reply:Potpourri
Reply:Potpourri is the correct spelling. The spell check really works.

Orange peels, and Mint Leaves are a favorite of mine

Any homemade foot deodorizer/spray...anyone?
Talcum Powder and Sage (dried and ground or whole fresh leaves). Works wonders and can be used as a deodorant as well. Tea tree oil is also a good one, antibacterial.
What I would do for stinky toes would be out of shower (were you washed with a tea tree soap (natural) dry your feet really well, then massage in a mixture of light olive oil, tea tree essential oil, (couple of tbsps oil to a few drops of oil) maybe even a few drops of lemon or orange oil or peppermint, rub it into toes and feet really well then apply the talcum/sage dusting on, and make sure to wear nice cotton socks NO nylon or other unbreathables.
Should do the trick!!!

Soak them in Listerine, But go to Walmart or the dollar store and get the cheap stuff. Soak em about 15 minutes
By the way, don`t try to reuse as mouthwash. LOL!!!
Reply:If it isn%26#039;t a fungus, soak your feet 1-2 times a week in regular tea.
Reply:Maybe vinegar, it would prolly kill off the cause of the smell. i would dilute it, dont use full strength on your tootsies :)

How does febreze deodorizer work?
does it kill odors or does it neutralize the olfactory nerves?
How does febreze deodorizer work?
Per patent #5,593,670, it absorbs the odors with an aqueous solution that includes cyclodextrin (glucose). It doesn%26#039;t neutralize the olfactory perception.
Did you win or lose the bet? ;)
Reply:That is a good question. I think it kills odors though.

Cat Litter Deodorizer?
Can anyone recommend something that you can add to litter that will actually WORK in helping deodorize the smell of urine? I change my litter weekly and scoop daily and use Fresh Step Clumping Litter w/ Odor Absorbing Carbon. I have tried just basic baking soda and have noticed that helps only a little
Cat Litter Deodorizer?
I have found that a Feline Pine type of litter works well. We actually use the one marketed for use in horse stalls because it is the exact same thing and available at a fraction of the price. We scoop out the solids daily and it%26#039;s really only at the end of the litter%26#039;s %26quot;life%26quot; that we get any real urine odor. We have 4 cats so I think that%26#039;s pretty good.
Reply:baking soda helps alot i have 2 cats who are male so theyre urine is baad and its cheap too make sure you have a good litter i use tidy cats and if u you use one with baking soda in it already put a little more in the litter box cause it makes the litter not stick
Reply:they sell cat litter that is crystals it is the greatest stuff EVER sold.. cant smell it at all... just have to farm out the crap
Reply:I had trouble with this too until my friend told me what she did, and I thought it was stupid till I tried it.
Buy that pine litter, it%26#039;s big pellets, and put a layer on the bottom under the regular litter. Keep up the scooping and changing as normal. The pine pellets really counteract the ammonia well, and because they are under the other litter at least my cat didn%26#039;t seem to mind at all.
Reply:Make sure you clean around the cat box also sometimes urine gets underneath the box and on the wall.
